The product is built. But who owns the rights?
At the third REVERA IT Lab meeting, we’ll look at why it’s important to document intellectual property rights. We’ll discuss how to build the chain of rights from authors to the company — taking into account the specifics of working with employees and contractors — and how to formalise the use and commercialisation of IP in relationships with clients.
What we will talk about
- Which intellectual property assets arise in an IT project, and which of them need to be formally documented?
- Which documents confirm the creation, ownership and transfer of IP rights?
- How to properly formalise the transfer of rights to results created by employees?
- Which rights-related terms need to be set out in contracts with contractors and external developers?
- How to formalise the commercialisation of IP and choose the right contractual model?
- When to use a licence agreement, a publishing agreement and other contracts related to the use of IP?
What the participants will get
- An understanding of which IP rights need to be formally documented and which documents confirm them.
- Guidance for building the chain of rights from employees and contractors to the company.
- Practical guidance on formalising client relationships in software development and IP use agreements.
- An understanding of the main IP commercialisation models: transfer of rights, licensing, publishing and other options.
- A chance to ask REVERA experts a question about your own project.
